Service Awareness for GPRS/UMTS

Allot's unsurpassed DPI technology complements the mobile network's GGSN (Gateway GPRS Support Node) by providing the Layer-7 service awareness it needs to enable real-time charging per application, user, and content flow.

Content Based Charging¡GGPRS infrastructure does not facilitate precise charging for content and/or applications because it extracts charging information from Layers 3 and 4 of the IP flow. In contrast, Allot NetEnforcer identifies content and applications at Layer 7, providing the session-oriented information needed for accurate charging based on the content delivered or the application being used.

Real-Time Charging¡G Prepaid service providers rely on Allot DPI and QoS service control to enable real-time charging for mobile content services, including real-time quota management, advise of charge, and top-up redirect functions.

Service Assurance¡GNetEnforcer allows the GGSN to achieve more precise QoS policy management and service control.
